Graduating in 2002 from the University of Ulster in Belfast, Sasan was awarded a BA (Hons) Degree in Visual Communication. He also holds a Certificate in Fine Art. He has been commissions for numerous publishers and advertising agencies in the UK, South Africa, Germany and the UAE.

Genius is a new illustration exhibition that opens on Wednesday, 1st February 2012 at the Cartoon Art Gallery in Dubai, UAE.

The exhibition will showcase over 60 pieces of work that explore and challenge definitions of illustration, its origins and its future - from caricatures to commercial illustration to fine art and to work that is pushing the boundaries of the medium.

FAKIE II - Skateboard exhibition
Fakie is a skateboard art exhibition currently running at Tashkeel till 18th February. The first edition was in held in May and this year's edition includes 30 skateboards that were donated Skate Arabia.

Old, worn-out and broken skateboards have all been turned into a piece of art (including a couple of clothing accessories) by 30 different artists based in the United Arab Emirates.

In Japanese symbolism the koi represents perserverance in adversity and strength of purpose. The strongest koi swims upstream until it reaches the final waterfall, where it vaults into the mists and becomes a water dragon.

 The design shows an ink illustrations which refers to "Metamorphosis" a book written by Franz Kafka. The story begins with a traveling salesman, Gregor Samsa, waking up to find himself transformed into a monstrous insect-like creature. This t-shirt design was a initially a tattoo design for a friend which draws reference to the biblical story of Adam and Eve who ate an apple from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, causing their expulsion from the Garden of Eden. Geishas are traditional, female Japanese entertainers whose skills include performing various Japanese arts such as classical music and dance. The red umbrella also represents the red rising sun of Japan.
